About You

Sergei Malkin - licensed psychosocial therapist

It inspires me time and again to witness how deeply we can love and how deeper love and affectionate bond challenge us and enable us to grow together to our full potential and invites us to live to the fullest.

About you

Why Sergei?

I am a licensed psychosocial therapist and psychologist, trainer and supervisor.

During my whole journey –  early as a lost and emotionally neglected child, later as a free rebellious spirit, a wanderer and a daring immigrant, I stood on my own, I learned to survive and persevere on my own. I discovered how I mastered to suppress, control and avoid my feelings, on the one hand, and on the other, how went out of my way to avoid to truly connect with my partners so I could remain unattached for fear of being hurt, abandoned or betrayed. At some point this was not enough. Now, more than twenty-one years of a relationship with my partner, even after three attempted break-ups, I have been discovering how to build and sustain healthier and fulfilling relationships. Dealing with my early childhood wounds, bumps and traumas helped me mend my broken heart, to heal resentments, to rediscover my whole power and fierceness. I have been learning to dare learn to love wholeheartedly and to rediscover fulfilment, resilience, joy, and freedom in meaningful bonds.

I will use my personal experiences, and professional knowledge and evidence and research based skills to support and guide you in your quest.

And with all my types of therapy, I offer a welcome place for drifters and those who feel lost. And I offer you a chance to free yourself from the past.

Getting stronger and becoming more of your true self while even perhaps accepting your darker side is what I can help you to do.

About you

My road to profession

I never aspired to be a therapist. In fact, I was skeptical altogether of therapy. I had always preferred to rely on myself to get through bad periods in life. Due to my academic and professional success, I always thought of myself as capable to fix any of my problems. But despite this, on a deeper level, barely traceable, something gnawed at me. I struggled with relationships, motivation, my body image, and addictions. At certain point I struggled with so many issues in my life that that I had no choice but to deal with my demons head-on. That’s when I launched a new therapeutic journey of self-discovery and restoring relationship to myself. Psychology grabbed be because it tangibly helped to reconnect.

About you

Key “strength”, what we should remember of your approach

I use therapeutic relationship to invite you, welcome you, support you and challenge you – enough so – that you learn what you have to learn to do in relationships to make them work. I offer you safe and exciting space for support and experiment to become more autonomous, resilient, connected and fulfilled.

I offer you a choice how deep you would like to learn. Most therapist help you learn cognitively. They help you learn to think and analyze, to become more conscious and understand yourself. With me you will have a choice to go deeper and achieve more sustainable and fulfilling results. Not only can you understand yourself and others (insight) but you can also learn to do things differently (to act differently) and to connect to and use your full potential, to become fully you and embody your wishes and ambitions. To become “truly a completely you” to your full potential and learning to be loyal to yourself in relationships.

Not only am I conscious and aware of my deeper wounds, I know them in such a way as to offer you a roadmap and recipe Carl Gustav Jung introduced a term a “wounded healer”. Originating in Greek mythology, the term describes therapeutic capacity to help recover and heal, only if the therapist is conscious and aware of his own wounds.

First-hand experience of life struggles and hang-ups  (not out of books only)

Offering research-proven and evidence-based skills and insights to guide you (I never sell anything that didn’t help me)

“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”
Carl Gustav Jung, Modern Man in Search of a Soul (1933)
